(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Standing Committee on Wednesday presented its draft report on monitoring the implementation of laws and policies on poverty reduction between 2005 and 2012. The National Assembly deputies praised the poverty reduction policy, considering it a priority of the party, state and government. They agreed that the policy results have contributed to sustainable economic growth, social security, and the welfare of people in disadvantaged areas. Many deputies proposed that the National Assembly issue a resolution on accelerating the implementation of policies and laws on poverty reduction between 2005 and 2020. They said that priority should be given to improving state management, decentralizing tasks and responsibilities, and fine-tuning the framework for evaluating the outcomes of these programs.
