Addressing a UN Security Council virtual meeting on Thursday, Ambassador Pham Hai Anh affirmed Vietnam’s support for regional and international cooperation to complement national efforts, especially in coordination of activities, resources, and expertise and experience sharing.

He emphasized the need for an approach appropriate to the specific situation and location at the national and regional levels, and called for support of Africa's efforts to address the region's problems.

Anh said it’s necessary to fight illegal weapons trading and safeguard national defense and security even in the transitional, post-conflict periods we’re seeing in many places right now.
