A wide range of cultural activities are due to take place during the festival, including a cuisine festival, a traditional musical instrument festival, a marathon, a music show, a book fair, and an array of songs featuring late composer Trinh Cong Son.
Furthermore, Stand-up Paddleboard (SUP) racing on the Huong river, also known as Perfume river, a festival showcasing local Rap music, an Ao Dai fashion show, numerous Hue royal court music performances, and an exhibition featuring traditional Vietnamese crafts, are all expected to excite audiences.
The opening ceremony is due to get underway on June 12.
The festival will be held for a one-month period for the first time ever, with the occasion expected to draw plenty of tourists, thereby stimulating greater tourism demand and helping the local tourism industry to recover in the post-novel coronavirus (COVID-19) period.
The event also aims to pay tribute to traditional Vietnamese crafts whilst promoting various tourism destinations within Hue and its world heritage sites to visitors, according to the organisers.
