Agreement was reached at a meeting between Hong Kong authorities and representatives of the students movement on Tuesday. Lau Kong-wah, Hong Kong’s undersecretary of constitutional affairs, said the government and students would focus discussions on the foundations of the Basic Law and legal regulations for Basic Law development. The talks will be made public.
Meanwhile, Lester Shum, a leader of the Hong Kong Federation of Students, confirmed the agreement, but said they had not discussed or reached a consensus on the agenda. He said the “Occupy Central” movement will continue until they see some concession from the authorities.
