Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Central Theory Council and Director of the Academy Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang spoke highly of UNDP’s contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development, especially in green and sustainable development, personnel training, and enhancing role of female leaders in Vietnam’s political system.

He said he hopes that the MoU will increase UNDP’s sharing of knowledge and techniques with the academy, thus strengthening its capacity in training activities in order to serve Vietnam’s socio-economic development.

UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam Caitlin Wiesen affirmed that the organization will participate in and implement the Strategic Framework for Sustainable Development Cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and UNDP and the Country Programme for Vietnam for 2022-2026, including important areas such as economic transformation, climate change adaptation, and strengthening resilience to natural disasters.
