At a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday to the mark the Academy’s 70th founding anniversary, Mr. Trong said: “The Academy is a Party school entrusted with a primary mission of training leaders and managers for the Party and the entire political system to be truly diligent, frugal, incorruptible, fair, competent, absolutely loyal to the Party ideals and revolutionary cause, and wholeheartedly devoted to the fatherland and people. The Academy needs to thoroughly study Marxist-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, protect and consolidate the Party’s ideological foundation, and clarify issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam. Efforts should be made to criticize and reject wrongful views and distorted accusations by hostile forces to contribute to protecting the Party, State, people, and the socialist regime.”
The Party leader and President called on the Academy to reform its training and invest more resources in scientific research. He said: “It’s necessary to build and develop the Academy comprehensively. Personnel work is the first priority. Attention should be paid to building a contingent of lecturers, researchers, and managers, who have talent, firm political viewpoint, morality, pedagogical methods, and an understanding of reality. Especially, the Academy must build its Party Committee to be is exemplary, united, clean, and strong and take the lead in fighting degradation of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, as well as manifestation of “self-evolution,” and self-transformation.”
