(VOVworld) - A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has visited Belgium to lure Belgian investment in education, healthcare, and science. During their 5-day visit, Chairman of the HCM People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan have met with Belgian businesses and organization to discuss bilateral cooperation projects using Official Development Assistance, including an on-going project to dredge the Soai Rap River. Mr. Quan highlighted cooperation potential between HCMC and Belgian localities, encouraging their businesses to visit Vietnam.

The Chairman attended a music performance Saturday entitled “Toward islands” organized by the Belgium-Vietnam Friendship Association and the two countries’ Friendship Alliance. He took this occasion to brief his hosts on China’s illegal placement of an oil rig in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and called on the international community to join with Vietnam in defending justice.
