The Department of Information and Communications and the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City are piloting VHD (Vietnam Health Declaration) app provided by Viettel.

The system will help the city monitor whether all quarantined cases at home abide by the regulations of the Ministry of Health, and manage their health status. The software ensures the monitoring of quarantine cases through the positioning and face recognition system.

During the pilot phase, the app will be used in at least one ward or commune in Thu Duc city and districts in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City is now Vietnam's COVID-19 epicenter with 2,786 new cases of the total  3,718 new cases reported in Vietnam on Saturday.
