(VOVworld) – Ho Chi Minh city’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front on Sunday organize a ceremony to mark the 68th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2nd. Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan said the city’s Party and people have overcome difficulties to gain glorious victories throughout revolutionary periods. In the renewal process, the city has achieved major results, deserving the predecessors’ sacrifices. Quan said: “Every cadre, Party member and citizen of Ho Chi Minh city vow to continue upholding the patriotic tradition, solidarity and staunch revolutionary spirit to proactively overcome difficulties to build, defend and develop Ho Chi Minh city into a civilized and modern city. This will contribute to construction and defense of our socialist country and achieving the goal of a rich people, strong democratic, fair and civilized country, which firmly advances to socialism”.
On Saturday evening, the municipal leaders met with representatives from diplomatic corps on the occasion of the National Day. Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee said the city is ready to be a friend and reliable partner of all countries on the basis of respect of national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity for peace, friendship and development.
