The ceremony was attended by survivors, victims' families, and ambassadors from 120 countries and territories.
During the ceremony, Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui urged young people to oppose nuclear weapons and called on nations to prioritize global peace and end conflicts. Many attendees voiced their objection to nuclear weapons, including a 94-year-old survivor who recalled that of his seven family members, six passed away and that he always prays for a world without nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, an elementary school student in Hiroshima, who has only learned about the devastation of war and nuclear weapons through history lessons and stories from his fathers' generation, said: "If the atomic bomb fell, it would be very scary, I hope it will never fall again."
