(VOVWORLD) -The Party, State and people will forever remember the merits of heroes, martyrs and veterans, including members of the 3rd Army Corps, said President Vo Van Thuong.

On the 48th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30), the President met with the delegates of Central Highlands Front B3 Liaison Board – 3rd Army Corps.

The President said the more than 30 year struggle for national liberation under the leadership of the Party is a brilliant historical period in the cause of national construction and defense. But the pain and loss caused by war still exists in many families. More than 40,000 officers and soldiers of the 3rd Army Corps laid down their lives heroically.

President Thuong called on the veterans to actively participate in the fight against corruption, help each other in life, and set an example for their children and grandchildren.
