(VOVworld) - Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Chairman Le Hoang Quan received an Italian congressional delegation Thursday led by Chairman of the Italian Senate's Foreign Policy Commission Pier Ferdinando Casini.

Vietnam and Italy have had diplomatic ties since 1973 and have established strategic partnerships in many fields. Chairman Le Hoang Quan said that Ho Chi Minh city has a good relationship with many Italian partners. Ho Chi Minh City welcomes further cooperation with Italy in the fields of economics and culture. Mr Casini said that he will continue to promote ties between Italian regions and Ho Chi Minh City.
