Hanoi is named second cheapest travel destination in 2024 by Travel Off Path.

The selection criteria included factors such as the number of direct flight routes, passenger footfall, cost of tourist attractions, affordability of public transport, prices of meals, food shops, hotels, B&Bs, and Airbnb apartments for a weekend for two people.

With 63/80 points for Hanoi, website “Travel Off Path” suggested that, if you happen to land in Hanoi, you definitely shouldn’t miss out on the street‑food culture of Hanoi. The average cost of a small meal and drink will set you back around 4 USD.

"With incredibly affordable accommodation options and a great hostel culture, you won’t have any issue finding something that fits your needs without breaking the bank," it said.

Earlier, travel magazine “Condé Nast Traveler” listed the 21 cheapest destinations for tourists in 2024, including Vietnam.
