In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Vu Thu Ha, said that the 3-day event offers an opportunity for the two cities to revisit the nation's glorious history, foster cooperation, and showcase their unique culture, potential, and people.

“The program will tighten the strong bond between the two localities, enhance cooperation across the board, and help maximize the potential and strength of Vietnam’s two economic powerhouses. It enables local residents and visitors to gain a deeper insight into the history and culture of ancient Thang Long, now Hanoi, as well as the close relationship between Hanoi and the dynamic, hospitable, and kind-hearted Ho Chi Minh City.”

Nguyen Van Chung, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, said he especially impressed by the miniature of Long Bien Bridge. “It looks surprisingly real and beautiful.” Chung said his family plans to visit Hanoi during the Lunar New Year to learn more about the capital.

"Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" include an art program; gifts for policy beneficiaries and national contributors; and exhibitions featuring Hanoi’ Liberation Day, the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the Temple of Literature.

There will also be activities to promote Hanoi’s products and tourism cooperation between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; and art and sports exchanges, among others.
