The World Food Program said on Tuesday said that half of Gaza's population is facing hunger. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said up to 1.9 million people or 85% of Gaza's population have been displaced, while conditions in southern areas where the Gazans moved to, have worsened. Gazans say the people who have been forced to evacuate are dying of hunger, cold, and from fighting.
The United Nations General Assembly is expected to pass a resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, after the US vetoed the Security Council's previous draft resolution.
In another development, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Israel is ready to discuss options on which side will control the Gaza Strip post-conflict, as long as it is not a hostile force to Israel. Mr. Gallant emphasized that the conflict in Gaza will only end when Israel achieves its goals. He said Israel is ready to reach an agreement with the Hezbollah force in Lebanon, provided that the agreement will include the establishment of a safe zone along the border with appropriate guarantees
