(VOVWORLD) - There are very few signs that the Hamas-Israel conflict will end soon as it entered the 12th month on Saturday.

Analysts said that there’s a thin hope of reaching a ceasefire or the possibility of Hamas releasing Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Tel Aviv as both sides maintain their tough stance.

Hamas has demanded that Israel completely withdraws from Gaza but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israeli army must remain in the strip of land along the border between Gaza and Egypt.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for Islamic countries to ally against Israel. He stressed that Turkey's push to improve relations with Egypt and Syria aims at forming a united front against the growing threat from Israel. He condemned Israel's 11-month operation on the Gaza Strip that has left nearly 150,000 casualties, mostly civilians.

Also on Saturday, around 500,000 people joined an unprecedented mass protest in Israel's history in Tel Aviv, calling on the Government to immediately reach a ceasefire with Hamas and rescue the hostages.

Tens of thousands people participated in the protests held simultaneously in Jerusalem, Haifa, Kfar Saba, Beersheba, Netanya, and Rishon Lezion.
