The Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment on Friday reported that the city currently has 788 fishing vessels, all of which have been registered and licensed for fishing. Vessel data have been fully standardized, cross-checked via the VNeID system, updated on the national fisheries management software VNFishbase, and equipped with vessel monitoring systems.

Alongside fleet management, communication efforts, licensing procedures, and enforcement activities have been carried out actively and effectively through close coordination between relevant forces and local authorities.

The Department will continue to work with Hai Phong city’s Public Security, the Coast Guard, and local administrations at commune, ward, and special-zone levels to strengthen dissemination of fisheries laws and the EC’s recommendations. Measures will also be intensified to closely monitor fishing vessels, step up maritime patrols, strictly supervise seafood landings at ports, and enhance traceability through the electronic catch documentation and traceability system (eCDT).
