(VOVworld) – Thousands of people, Buddhist followers, and war veterans attended requiems held over the weekend at Vi Xuyen district’s martyrs cemetery in Ha Giang province. The requiems are held annually to commemorate war martyrs who sacrificed their lives to defend national sovereignty.
Vi Xuyen cemetery is the resting place of more than 1700 war martyrs who died to protect Vietnam’s northernmost borders. The Ha Giang provincial Buddhist Shangha presented 50 gift sets worth 25 USD each to the families of war martyrs and veterans.
