(VOVworld) – Renovating and improving the efficiency of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to ensure their key role in the socialist-oriented market economy and mobilizing resources for strategic breakthroughs were high on agenda of the Government’s monthly meeting in Hanoi yesterday. Under Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s chairmanship, cabinet members focused on workers’ mastery promotion, financial transparency, and the role of SOE in national integration and cooperation expansion. PM Dung said the contribution of SOEs is important in moderating the macro-economy, boosting productivity, ensuring social security and order, and defending the country. He called for SOE renewal by 2015, directing SOEs to focus their investment on predetermined major sectors.
