The “Best Feature Film” is the most important category of the Golden Kite Awards while “Glorious Ashes” marks the return to the big screen of director Bui Thac Chuyen after a decade.
The film is adapted from two short stories by writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu, “Glorious Ashes” and “Rotten Firewood”. In addition, the movie crew also won awards for Best Supporting Actress for Hanh Thuy, Outstanding Cinematography for Nguyen K'Linh, and Outstanding Director for Bui Thac Chuyen.
In the TV series category, the TV series “Me Rom” (also known as Sunshine hearts) by director Nguyen Phuong Dien won the gold award.
Thai Hoa and Thu Trang were honored with the “Best Actor” and Best Actress” titles for the feature film entitled “Con Nhot mot chong”.
