Highlights include Cham folk culture, gong performances by the Jrai people, Muong gong ensembles, khen dancing and flute playing by the Mong; Muong xoe dance; Then singing and Tinh lute by the Tay and Nung, sap dancing, and traditional musical instrument performances by artisan groups from nationwide.
According to Le Thanh Tuan, Director of the Gia Lai provincial Museum, the festival blends performances with hands-on cultural experiences, folk games, and culinary activities to honor heritage of ethnic communities.
“The program has been renewed. This year, we have invited the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts to host an exhibition ‘The Central Highlands in Vietnamese painting,’ along with private collectors showcasing traditional Ao Dai costumes,” said Tuan, adding, “Visitors can explore scenic landscapes and unique cultural expressions of different ethnic groups, contributing to heritage preservation, promotion, and especially tourism development in Gia Lai.”
Within the 9-day festival, there is a photo exhibition featuring Gia Lai land and people and a display by painter Xu Man marking the 100th birth anniversary of the late artist. In addition, a culinary corner will showcase traditional local dishes.
