Germany’s Lower Saxony state wishes to develop partnership with Vietnamese businesses

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam supports and creates the best possible conditions for foreign businesses, including those from Germany, to operate efficiently in the country, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Stephan Weil, Minister President of Germany’s Lower Saxony state.

Receiving the German guest in Hanoi on Monday, Mr. Chinh proposed that the two sides promote cooperation in politics-diplomacy, trade-investment, climate change response, vocational training, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, so as to bring benefits for the two peoples and increase mutual understanding.

He also proposed that Lower Saxony encourage its businesses to invest in Vietnam in high technology, digital transformation, green transformation, and climate change response, while supporting the German parliament to soon ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and to lobby the European Commission to remove the yellow card on Vietnamese seafood.

Minister President Stephan Weil said Lower Saxony wishes to increase visit exchanges and develop partnerships with ministries, localities and businesses of Vietnam. The head of the German state affirmed that he would make efforts to develop the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership practically and effectively.
