The joint statement mentioned increasing the economic cost to Russia and exploring measures against those who finance Russia’s special military operation.

The G7 foreign ministers also reiterated their strong support for President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and called for the return of the remains of deceased hostages and the removal of restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza.

They reaffirmed the importance of a free and open Indo-Pacific based on the rule of law, expressed concern over "non-market policies that could disrupt critical minerals supply chains", and opposed "any unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force or coercion" in the South China Sea (called the East Sea in Vietnam).

The meeting was attended by foreign ministers of the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US and EU representative.
