(VOVworld)- The Vietnam Solidarity and International Cooperation Organization (known as GRET) has held a meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday to review the project which supports local social organizations to improve their capacity in integrating the environment in local socio-economic development programs. Funded by the European Commission, the project was implemented between 2011 and 2014 in 49 communes in Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen and Thanh Hoa provinces. In his address, Nguyen Huu Ninh, Director of the Project and Chief Representative of the organization in Vietnam said that the project aimed to foster and strengthen civil society, creating intermediate-level social actors with the organizational skills, competence and knowledge necessary to participate at a local level to mitigate, adapt and lead sustainable development actions in the face of climate change.
