The PM extended his condolences to the authorities and people of the affected localities. The first and most important task at present is to protect the lives of people, continue to search for the missing and arrange funerals for the deceased, he said.
The Prime Minister demanded immediate measures to ensure accommodation and the uninterrupted operation of schools, and medical facilities.
“Food must be delivered swiftly to affected communities, including by UAVs for isolated areas, and temporary shelter must be provided immediately to those whose homes have collapsed or been destroyed,” he said.
PM Chinh stressed the need to quickly restore production, business, and livelihoods and work on finance and credit support for the people and businesses in difficult times.
As of 6:30 AM on Friday, 52 people died or went missing; 168 houses were damaged; and 68,000 houses were inundated; Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, and Dak Lak provinces remain flooded on a large scale. More than 13,000 hectares of rice, crops, and vegetables were damaged; over 30,730 cattle and pigs were killed or swept away. 30 locations on national highways were partially flooded.
The Ministry of National Defense has mobilized over 64,500 troops and 440 vehicles; the Ministry of Public Security has deployed over 41,000 officers and soldiers to ensure security and order at the grassroots level.
