(VOVworld) – A new French government has been established with ministers supporting President Francois Hollande.

Emmanuel Macron, who previously served as a top economic advisor, now heads the Finance Ministry replacing Arnaud Montebourg, who railed against 'unjust' government policies. Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius stayed in place in the reshuffle. 3 ministers who openly criticized the government’s economic policies were removed from the list of cabinet members. At a press conference in Paris, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said he would call for a vote of confidence in parliament in September or October. France's Le Monde newspaper said the reshuffle was a last effort by President Hollande to save his prestige as his popular support sagged to a record low of 17 percent.
