(VOV) – The France-Vietnam Business Forum 2013 has opened in Ho Chi Minh city.

The event drew participation from more than 120 French businesses and around 500 Vietnamese companies and 20 market experts focusing on creating greater understanding of and access to Vietnam’s markets. The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh city’s People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan said: "The France-Vietnam Business Forum is significant in kicking off a series of activities in Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh city marking the 40th founding anniversary of Vietnamese-French diplomatic ties. The forum is a chance for enterprises in the two countries to exchange information and search for opportunities for greater cooperative possibility in the near future. I believe that cooperative friendship between France and Vietnam in general, and in Ho Chi Minh city in particular, will further develop".
At present, nearly 20 Vietnamese cities and provinces have established ties with 40 French localities, with about 240 projects having been implemented. France is one of 15 of the biggest investors in Ho Chi Minh city.
