The arrests were made Saturday in operations across France but mainly on the island of Corsica. The suspects had a plan to commit a violent act targeting people of the Muslim faith, one source close to the probe said.
France has suffered a string of jihadist attacks since early 2015, often by people who have become radicalized or claim to have acted in the name of the Islamic State group.
