Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong highlighted ASEAN and global efforts to overcome unpredicted challenges due to COVID-19: "Statistics agencies cohesiveness and responsiveness have helped the Governments make prompt decisions on economic management, disease prevention and control, post-disease recovery, and recovery support for people and businesses. People in the region have confidence in their governments response to the pandemic. Vietnam acknowledges solidarity and support from ASEAN members and ASEAN partners to make the community more resilient to challenges."

At the forum, delegates reviewed the statistical system’s performance in the last 10 years regarding sharing, analysis, and communications of statistical data.
