Mr. Nghi said doing start-ups is a growing trend, adding that many successful Vietnamese firms in the US want to expand their cooperation with others.

Nguyen Thien Nhan, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City's Party Committee, said the forum is a valuable chance for enterprises in Vietnam and the US to enhance investment opportunities and cooperation. He said he wants start-ups to exchange experience, thus the city will take steps to boost the start-up trend.

At the forum, successful start-ups in science and technology and venture capital shared their experience in investment, business strategies, and development orientation.

A similar event will take place in Ho Chi Minh city in January to help connect domestic and overseas start-ups.
