Former South Korean president Lee Myung Bak indicted for corruption

(VOVWORLD) - Prosecutors indicted former South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Monday on a string of corruption charges, including taking millions of USD in bribes, making him the country’s fourth former leader to face trial.

Yonhap news agency reported that Mr. Lee, president between 2008 and 2013, has been accused of bribery, abuse of power, embezzlement and other irregularities.

Prosecutors are expected to widen their probe to include corporate figures and members of Mr. Lee's inner circle, who are believed to have offered him bribes.
