This was their first meeting since Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, and Egypt cut diplomatic ties with Qatar in June, accusing it of supporting terrorism. The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Kuwait and Oman, the UAE minister of foreign affairs Anwar Gargash, and Bahrain's assistant foreign minister, Abdullah al-Dossari. It aimed to prepare the agenda for the Gulf Cooperation Council’s annual summit in Kuwait City on Tuesday and Wednesday.
