Biden slammed Trump for his COVID-19 response. 40,000 Americans a day are contracting COVID-19 and many no longer trust Trump’s handling of the pandemic. Trump reiterated his promise that a vaccine will soon be available, but the Centers for Disease Control has said the US will have enough coronavirus vaccine to return to 'normal life' no sooner than the third quarter of 2021.
Tax issues triggered a heated debate between the two presidential candidates. Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris released their 2019 federal and state tax returns just hours before the debate, a clear challenge to President Trump, who has refused to release his own tax returns.
The next debates will take place on October 15 and October 22.
