In his closing speech, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the Committee reached consensus on 17 contents and discussed the draft resolutions on reduction of value added tax and supplementation of the chartered capital for the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam.

Mr. Hue said the Committee discussed issues to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration at the upcoming fifth plenary session.

Earlier in the morning, lawmakers agreed to hold the 5th plenary session of the 15th National Assembly on May 22.

Bui Van Cuong, NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office, said the deputies agreed on the agenda of the meeting.

“The session is expected to last 22 days. If the National Assembly plans to adopt 3 draft laws - the Law on Roadway Traffic, the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, and Law on Public Order at the grassroots level, plus some other content – we will need more time. It might be 24 days and a half to close on June 28,” said Cuong.

On the same day, the Committee unanimously submitted to the National Assembly for consideration the reduction of value added tax (VAT).

The Government proposes a cut of 2% tax for all goods and services in such areas as banking, securities, insurance, real estate, mining, telecommunications, and IT.
