Feasibility study on a Hai Phong free trade zone begins

(VOVWORLD) -A feasibility study contract for the establishment of a free trade zone in Tien Lang district of the northern port city of Hai Phong was signed by LQ Joton Group and CT Strategies Company of the US on Saturday. The signing was witnessed by Hai Phong city leaders.

The Joton Free Trade Zone model will be a complex connected to the international port and Tien Lang airport, a gateway connecting the national railway to China, Laos, and Thailand, and a dedicated complex for a number of large electronic corporations, such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Canon, and Intel.

The zone will focus on manufacturing high-tech equipment for heathcare, construction, new materials, semiconductor, renewable energy, and international express air freight service.

At the signing ceremony, Deputy General Director of External Affairs of Joton Group Vu Duy Quyen, said, “Joton Free Trade Zone in Tien Lang district is not only a place of trade but also a place to create jobs, benefit the community and improve the quality of life. This is an opportunity for us to share experiences, learn from each other and build solid development in economy, trade and investment.”
