The exhibition is arranged in three parts featuring the severity of the strategic raids by the US Air Force and Navy in Northern Vietnam, the life of ordinary people and soldiers in Hanoi in late 1972, the life of American pilots in Hoa Lo Prison and their desire to end the war to return home, and the handover of the American pilots.
There are letters and paintings by some American pilots who were detained at Hoa Lo and other prisons. For example, there are letters written by Navy Captain Robert Deane Woods and Air Force Captain Harold Eugene Johnson to their families which were recorded and broadcast on the Voice of Vietnam during Christmas in 1970.
The exhibition will be open until June 30, 2024.
