This commitment was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday at a press conference in Brussels with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
Ms. Von der Leyen described the package as “the most concrete military commitment ever made by the EU to Ukraine”, and emphasized Ukraine’s pivotal role in safeguarding security in Europe. She said they need to strengthen their military support for Ukraine. If they regard Ukraine as the first line of defense, then it’s time to act accordingly.
She said the entire aid package will be disbursed immediately.
