Speaking after an emergency meeting of Eurozone leaders on Tuesday, which concluded without any deal, Renzi said that he hoped and believed a definitive solution for Greece could be possible by Sunday.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Greece needed a debt program lasting “several years” and that submitting its reform plan before Thursday was a pre-condition to resume negotiations on a new bailout program.
EC President Jean-Claude Juncker said that he still supported Greece staying within the Eurozone, but it should fulfill its creditors’ demands. The deadline for Greek proposals is Friday.
