(VOVworld) – EU foreign chief Federica Mogherini presented a plan to resolve illegal immigration into Europe at the joint meeting of EU foreign and interior ministers in Luxembourg on Monday.

The 10-point plan said that the EU Joint operation in the Mediterranean, Triton, needed to be reinforced and its operational area needed to be extended. She said that the EU should show the same collective sense that they had consistently shown in previous times of crisis, adding that the EU would continue to pursue its humanitarian values and pledges towards immigrants.
EC President Donald Tusk announced an extraordinary EU Summit on Thursday to review the plan.
