Under its new constitution, Turkey will have no Prime Minister, and the President is free to appoint and fire his officials without the Parliament’s approval. President Erdogan vowed to use this vast authority to bring Turkey into top 10 world economies.
Mr. Erdogan said the number of ministers who are not from the Turkish Justice and Development party, will decrease from 20 to 16. He has chosen his son-in-law Berat Albayrak as Turkey’s new Finance Minister, Fuat Oktay as Vice President, Hulusi Akar as Defense Minister, Mevlut Cavosoglu as Foreign Minister, and Suleyman Soylu as Home Affairs Minister.
