The decree says the NEC board will have 10 members led by deputy head of the Court of Cassation Lashin Ibrahim and Mahmoud El-Sherif, another deputy head of the court who will act as Ibrahim's deputy.  

The NEC will be responsible for preparing national voter lists, designating voting places, setting rules for campaigning and funding, supervising media coverage, facilitating voting operations, and announcing the final results. Ibrahim said in a statement on Tuesday that the NEC board will meet on Wednesday to elect an executive director.
