Egypt, Jordan, Palestine call for revival of Israeli-Palestinian peace process

(VOVWORLD) - On the sidelines of the 157th session of the Arab League Council in Cairo on Wednesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with the Jordanian and Palestinian Foreign Ministers in an effort to revive peace negotiations and resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The three top diplomats underscored the importance of reviving serious negotiations between Palestine and Israel to achieve a comprehensive, just, and long-term peace towards establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They said they hope that all parties involved will actively participate in the peace process and strive to resolve all the problems that have undermined attempts to reach a two-state solution and establish peace in the region.
