(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Fatherland Front on Sunday organized a meeting to honor 200 outstanding organizations and individuals in helping the poor and contributing to border and maritime affairs.

Last year, Ho Chi Minh city’s Fund for the National Sea and Island received nearly 1.3 million USD to build public facilities for islanders in Truong Sa island district and DK1 Platform. It spent nearly 7 million USD to build charity houses and buy production tools for the poor. Tran Tan Ngoi is Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Chapter in Ho Chi Minh City: "Ho Chi Minh City’s Fatherland Front organized various activities to help the poor and disadvantaged people in Ho Chi Minh City and around the country.”
