(VOVworld) - Nearly 4,500 tourists have visited Dong Van Karst Plateau during the first 3 days of the lunar new year. The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported that the tourists have raised revenue to more than 4 billion dong, a staggering figure for the mountainous province of Ha Giang.

UNESCO recognized Dong Van as the first Geopark in Viet Nam and the second one in Southeast Asia in 2010. Local government has invested in the recreation of ethnic cultural activities and infrastructure upgrade to facilitate traveling. Ha Giang provincial leaders want to turn tourism into a spearhead industry while preserving geographical and cultural heritages in the province
