(VOVworld)- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh will lead a Vietnamese delegation to attend the 47th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting (AMM-47) and some other related meetings in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from August 5-10. These are the most important events in the year of ASEAN and its partners, with the participation of foreign ministers from 27 countries including 10 ASEAN countries and 17 ASEAN partners. The foreign ministers will review ASEAN cooperation, relations between ASEAN and its partners in recent years, and discuss orientations for promoting partnerships as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern, particularly peace and security in the region. Vietnam’s participation in the meetings aims to reinforce ASEAN solidarity and cooperation towards a strong and united ASEAN Community, and enhance the regional grouping’s central role in maintaining the environment of peace, stability, security and cooperation in the region and expanding relations with partners to contribute to ASEAN’s common goals and interests.
