(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has worked with Ho Chi Minh city authorities on an urban railway project for the city. Mr. Hai said the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien was the first metro route to be opened in Vietnam, adding that Ho Chi Minh city has exerted great efforts to ensure that the project could be quickly implemented.

The urban railway project, with an investment capital of over 1 billion USD, will help resolve transportation issues and develop the city’s economy. The Deputy Prime Minister also asked the Ministries of Transport, Construction and Science and Technology to check for common standards to make its use and operation easier.
