At a meeting with NA President Tsveta Karayancheva on Wednesday, as part of his official visit to Bulgaria, Mr. Minh urged Bulgaria to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate into the host society and contribute to the prosperity of both countries. Ms. Karayancheva said she will back the early signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA). The two agreed that the NAs should step up experience sharing in law-making and judicial reform.

The same day, Mr. Minh held talks with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva. They agreed to put their economic ties on a par with their political ties. Mr. Minh urged Bulgaria to increase investment in medicine, high-tech agriculture, information technology, renewable energy, and urban management.

They underlined the need to settle disputes by peaceful measures on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
