(VOVworld) – Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged ministries, sectors, and localities to intensify the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and fake goods.

Deputy Prime Minister Phuc made the request while chairing a meeting of the National Steering Committee on the Prevention and Control of Smuggling, Trade Fraud, and Fake Commodities in Hanoi on Thursday to review its performance in the first quarter of this year and deploy tasks for coming months.

Participants agreed that in the reviewed period functional agencies had increased coordination in inspecting and handling violations, helping to stabilize social security and safety.

Mr. Phuc, Head of the Committee, asked ministries and provinces to step up supervisions, checks, and market management, and renovate methods to uncover new tricks in smuggling and trade fraud.

He urged agencies and localities to consider the combat against smuggling and trade fraud among top priorities.

Mr. Phuc also called for tightening disciplines and supervision to strictly handle officials who complied with or covered up smuggling and trade fraud along with improving the quality of domestically made products.
