(VOVworld) – Vietnam attaches great importance to its multifaceted cooperation with Qatar, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc told Qatari PM Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani during their meeting on Sunday. He proposed the two countries continue to support each other at multilateral forums and on issues of shared interest. PM Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani said he will ask ministries and agencies to implement agreements with Vietnam, especially those in trade, investment, labor, and tourism. He accepted the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, adding he will visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.

The same day, Mr. Phuc met with his Qatari counterpart Ahmed Bin Abdullah Bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud. The two Deputy PMs reviewed significant achievements in bilateral relations, discussed specific measures to foster multifaceted affiliation and agreed to increase senior delegation exchanges. Both sides affirmed their determination to elevate two-way trade to 1 billion USD. The two leaders witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two Ministries of Justice.

On Sunday, Mr. Phuc met with Qatari Minster of Economics and Trade Sheikh Ahmed Jasim Bin Mohamed Al Thani and Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid Bin Mohamed Attiyah. Earlier, he attended Vietnam’s Days in Qatar celebrations, and visited Vietnamese laborers working at the Frjin Middle East Construction Steel Company in Mesaieed. He also visited the staff of Vietnam’s Embassy in Qatar and members of the Vietnamese community there.
