The meeting also saw the attendance of representatives from the University of Southampton, which is ranked among the world’s top 100 universities by QS World Rankings and Navitas, a leading global education group.

The Deputy PM said he hopes that Ambassador Frew will continue to contribute to boosting education and training cooperation between the two countries, acting as a bridge between educational institutions on both sides. He also asked the UK Embassy to increase the number of scholarships for Vietnamese students studying in the UK as well as support Vietnam in its efforts to popularize English and make English the second language.

Vietnam also prioritizes attracting prestigious international universities to establish branches, aiming to have at least two more branches of the world's leading universities by 2030, Mr. Long said.

Ambassador Iain Frew pledged to continue supporting Vietnam in developing high-quality human resources and supporting Vietnam in improving the quality of education. Representatives of the University of Southampton expressed their desire to cooperate in areas such as artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation.
